While I’m not an expert, I’ve had experience installing and using screen protectors in the past, and the 3M bodyguard is not any simpler to install, even after reading the “tips” and watching the video online. It took the better part of an hour to get this installed close to satisfactorily.

The cardboard “applicator” had glue residue on it that transferred to the bodyguard, and I’m still having difficulty getting off. Smoothing out bubbles with moderate pressure on the applicator left some permanent scratches on the bodyguard, fortunately off screen by the home button.

The anti-glare feature adds a grainy texture to the formerly sharp retina spectacle- an undesirable tradeoff, unless You use your iPad outdoors a lot.

I will try this on a trip I’m taking this week, but I’m guessing I will remove it once I return.

The company that invents an simple to install bodyguard that doesn’t diminish the view on the screen will corner the market; until then, it’s a cr*pshoot.

This product is just like every other protective screen that I have tried to apply to my iPad. Getting it applied smoothly without bubbles is impossible for me! I always scrupulously sterile the screen and follow all the instructions to the letter. Invariably, as in this case, I’m left with residual bubbles, and in this case, a single bit of something that might have been a particle I couldn’t remove no matter how many era I used the enclosed microfiber wipe and the small cardboard piece that was supposed to help me set the film properly. In fact, the cardboard had adhesive on it that really left a residue on the film! The edges were so approximate that I hesitated to use much firmness in case it scratched the bodyguard.

Before I took it off (the bubbles were too annoying — of poorer quality than seeing the fingerprints or the agonize about scratching the screen), I did see that the product eliminated some glare. I was able to use both my finger to touch or swipe and my stylus with no drag.

I hope that others can apply this without the bubbles and dust underneath — just did not go well for me.

I’m a fumble-fingered left-hander, so applying bits and pieces like these is not really my strong point. It took my spouse to get the screen bodyguard on.

I’ll be honest, too, and say the directions were obtuse. Spouse didn’t read them, figured it out, and got the bodyguard working in not anything flat.

Do I like the screen bodyguard? It does fade fingerprints and it doesn’t seem to mess with the clarity of the retina screen. I’m not sure using a stylus is as instant as it used to be, but if you’re mostly doing screen swipes with your fingers, you’re not going to have problems.
