Here’s a fine example of taking a first-rate product and making subtle improvements to make it truly brilliant.

This amPen New hybrid stylus is an example of product evolution at its best, and the key to this new stylus is in its tip, as can be seen in the photos on this page. The engineers have taken an already very excellent soft rubber tip and replaced it with a conductive fiber/rubber hybrid tip, and the result is a stylus that offers a smoother action as you access the screen on a tablet, along with an increased level of sensitivity.

So what makes this amPen New Hybrid Stylus a excellent choice for tablet users?

+ Conductive fiber/rubber hybrid tip offers smoother responsiveness on the screen
+ Frivolous compact design; has a metal (not plastic) pen clip
+ Corded attachment piece plugs into the earphone jack; no lost stylus
+ Packaged in a simple box; there’s no clamshell to have to cut open
+ Brilliant pricing for a superb product

    In Use:

Skeptic that I am, had to place it through its paces, and thoroughly, trying it with many uncommon scenarios on my Kindle Fire, trying it with many installed apps, using it to highlight passages in books, and all through access to the Internet. The increased sensitivity was apparent, as was the smoothness all through actions like highlighting text. Putting it simply I finished up life pleasantly surprised.

It’s really hard to compare this with other stylus products, as it’s slightly uncommon in feel due to the conductive fiber/rubber hybrid tip vs. the soft rubber tips on the others that have be converted into my standards. When I first bought my Kindle Fire, I tried to use it without a stylus, and after going through screen smudges and clumsy moves on my part, did some local looking at various stores and here on Amazon to see what was available, in a wide range of prices.

After going through a number of uncommon products, I had finished up with two that I found to be better than most: the highly rated amCase (TM) amPen Ultra-sensitive Capacitive Stylus and the AmazonBasics Stylus, both of which I found to be a 5-star products that have not had tip failures over time like some of the others… and it happens.

But the bottom line is that this amPen New hybrid stylus sets a new standard in smoothness and by and large functionality, and this stylus also has a metal pen clip. While many of us won’t be putting it in a shirt pocket, it’s simple to clip to the elastic band on my Marware Vibe Case Cover. This makes for a very well-located combination when mobile… and this combined with the attachment piece plug on the cord keeps the stylus from life misplaced.

It might be suggested that the hybrid tip of this or just about any other rubber tipped stylus will pick up skin oils or perspiration if you run your fingers on it. This might come from accidental sad it after rubbing your skin, but it can have an effect on performance, and will also daub your tablet screen. Should this take place, just lightly wipe the tip with a microfiber cloth like you might use for cleaning eyeglasses or the screen of your tablet device. I use the Nikon MicroKlear Microfiber Cleaning Cloth on the tip of this stylus to remove skin oils, but do it gently.

This stylus is brilliant choice for users of the Kindle Fire, Kindle Touch or the iPad series based on personal use. The way that it slide it across the screen when highlighting text makes it the smoothest that I’ve experienced, so there must be something excellent to this conductive fiber/rubber hybrid tip technology. Looking at performance, feel, and real functionality and performance, this new stylus highly recommended, and thinking of the acquaintances that I have who have had issues with various types of stylus products, I already know what they’re getting as birthday gifts and such. Considering the brilliant price in comparison with the better grade stylus products that I’ve used makes it an outstanding buy.

I received this stylus as a gift from a friend who bought this, loved it, and then sent one to me. I am using it with my Kindle Fire.

First of all, this is the best stylus I have tried so far. I’ve tried mostly ones that have been bought locally and I have just not been thrilled with them. In fact, I stopped using them because they were clunky and too bulky for most things I do.

The first thing I like about this stylus is its consequence. It is weighted very well for the hand which I didn’t find in the others I’ve tried. It’s not heavy, but there is enough consequence to it so that it feels comfortable.

The fact that its clip is metal is a huge plus as well. It won’t snap off as easily as the plastic one did. Sometimes I need to clip it to my sleeve and I lost numerous because the clip part broke off.

This stylus is so simple to use and reacts very well. In fact, I had to lighten up my touch with it because it is so efficient. Highlighting text is a breeze, much simpler that before. I reckon part of it is the size of the pad, it’s a bit smaller than the ones I had so it’s simpler to grab just the text you need. It also works very well when “typing”.

Perhaps my favorite thing about this is the plug attached to the pen that plugs into the earphone jack. It fits very snuggly and the cord is long enough for me to tuck it into the cover I have for my Kindle Fire. This should me keep from bringing up the rear this stylus.

By and large, this is an brilliant product and I would recommend it without reservation. If I was going to be picky, it could have been a tad longer but that is purely a subjective thing and certainly not a flaw. If you’re looking for a reliable, simple to use stylus, this is your solution!

This is the second stylus I’ve bought for my tablet, the first life the well-reviewed AmazonBasics stylus. To place it simply, the first one was excellent, but this one is fantastic. The main selling point for me was the innovative stylus tip, and I was not disappointed. The fiber/rubber mesh has practically no resistance on the screen, which was an issue for me with my first stylus. Prose, drawing, scrolling, and generally using the stylus is a pleasure. The earphone jack attachment is very well-located; in combination with the clip, I hope to never lose this stylus. My only agonize is that the clip itself doesn’t seem very flexible, so I am concerned that it may snap if I overtax it in the future. The amPen hybrid stylus is also slightly shorter than the AmazonBasics, which wasn’t an issue for me and my average-sized hands. It may have some drawbacks depending on your preference and usage, but for me, I reckon I have found the perfect stylus.
